Dear Mike,

I just ran cross your website. I was scammed for 1140.00 just over a week
ago. I which I would have found out about your site before then. I like to
report this person and hope that no one else gets taken by her.

I was a member of Amigos.com when a Russian Lady named Olya Protasova found
my profile and sent me what appeared to be a sincere and nice letter saying
that she would like to get to know me better. I wrote back thanking her for
the letter and we started corresponded back and forth. I noticed that her
account at Amigos was soon closed after we started our correspondence.

I am very new at this and although I did not know about your website and did
not know how many women are out there scamming people, I did think that it
would be very easy for someone to do so.

Olya and I were corresponding for about 2 months when Olya could not live
without me and wanted to come to America. I knew that if I started a
relationship with someone in Russia I was eventually going to have to bring
her to America. I tried in my own way to see if she was honest by giving her
my credit card number and seeing if she would run up a bill. She did not
want to use my card or would not accept any money for herself.

OLya wanted me to pay for her passport / visa and air fare but not to her
directly. She wanted me to send the money a travel agent called Altair
Travel agency, Valeri N. Bazunov, Manager. She gave me all the information I
needed to get a hold of Valeri (I wonder if Olya and Valeri are the same
person?)

After I sent the money I haven’t heard back form Olya or Valeri. Neither of
them have ever returned my emails. Is there anything I can do to recover the
money or even part of the money?

I  tested her one last time by  telling her that try as I might I could not
come up with the money. She was very understanding about it. This is when I
decided that she was honest and I sent the bank transfer.


Olya may be a made up name but maybe you can post Valeri’s account number.
This is where the money is transferred to and that information should not
