I met Zhanna while visiting St. Petersburg in August of 2003. I assumed that she was a genuine person because she said that she was a Christian. I later told me that she was a Mormon. After that we began to correspond by email and telephone. I noticed that she was very evasive and resistant to talk about her family. She did tell me that her father would try to hit her when he was drunk and as a result she wanted her own apartment. I invited her to spend the Christmas holidays in Finland where we would get to know one another more. She communicated to me that she did not have the funds to travel to Finland. I therefore decided to send her the money for her visa and the tickets to travel to Finland and back to Saratov. About two weeks after I sent her the money for her travel and her visa fees, she told me that she was sick with pneumonia and that she needed help with her medicine. She asked me to lend her the money. I asked her if her parent could not help her or her Mormon church. She said that neither the church nor her parents would help her. I found it a bit strange that parents would treat their children like that. The next day she sent several emails desperately begging me to save her. I told her that I could only lend her $ 100 since I was a student and I had expenses. One week later she told me that she had a cell phone where I could call her. I thought, if she had no money where she got the money to buy the cell phone? One week after that she wrote again desperately asking me to send her money for her medicine because her pneumonia had returned. I told her that I had to see where I would get the money because it was a bit hard for me. She was even rude in her request. I dismissed this believing that it was due to language difficulties. She even said that she felt that she was going to die, but she was still working. I told her that she needs to stop work in order for her to recover soon. She promised that she would not work if I lend her the money. I got the money and lent her. I called the cell telephone the next day and it was working. And she had continued to work. There I began to suspect that she was lying and was trying to get money. In fact she was sounding well and not like someone that was sick. I even noticed the before that whenever she would turn on her messenger and would see that I am on she would put on a busy sign. Sometimes she would talk to me for about one or two minutes on the messenger and then would say that she had to go to work but then she would stay for about twenty minutes on the internet. Taking all these things into account I became very suspicious. Then one week after I had lent her the last $100 I received a letter from her friend saying that I should give Zhanna two months salary so that she could rest from her pneumonia. She even told me that if I did not do that I would not have Zhanna and that she would tell Zhanna that I do not want to help her. I found it strange that she would get my email and know about the fact that I lent Zhanna money. She was very emphatic that I give money to Zhanna. She threatened that if I did not do it she would tell Zhanna. If I had any doubts they were gone. I realized that they were trying to scam me. I called off the trip to Finland and asked her to return my money which was $483. As to be expected with a scammer she does not plan to do it. As a result I have written this letter to alert other people about this scammer so that they would not be a victim of her and to protect those genuine Russian girls ______________________ thanks for support, I'm realy need what.
